About the speakers

Alexander Robson, Editor-in-chief, Regulatory Intelligence, Thomson Reuters 

Alexander Robson is editor-in-chief, Thomson Reuters Regulatory Intelligence, based in London. He joined Thomson Reuters in 2010 with the acquisition of Complinet, the online resource for compliance and regulatory professionals, of which he was the first editor in 1998.

Prior to that, he worked for Thomson IFR, Euromoney Institutional Investor newsletters where he covered asset management, debt capital markets and securitization, and regulation. He has also worked for both local and national newspapers and briefly as a stockbroker. He has a degree in Modern History and International Relations from the University of Reading and a postgraduate diploma in Newspaper Journalism from Cardiff University.

Susannah Hammond, Senior Regulatory Intelligence Expert, Thomson Reuters

Susannah Hammond is senior regulatory intelligence expert and joined Thomson Reuters regulatory intelligence team from GE Capital Bank where she was head of compliance. Susannah has over 25 years' wide-ranging experience in international and UK financial services. A qualified chartered accountant, Susannah's compliance career includes SG Warburg, Caspian Securities and PricewaterhouseCoopers. She was head of international regulatory risk for the Halifax Group and became head of retail regulatory risk for HBOS plc upon Halifax's merger with Bank of Scotland. 

Nicola Passariello, Risk Specialist - Screening EDD, Thomson Reuters

Nicola Passariello is a Sales Specialist- Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) EMEA at Thomson Reuters and an expert in Know Your Customer (KYC) & Due Diligence.  Through his international career Nicola has gained extensive industry experience having worked for different information providers such as S&P, as well as advisors like ISS and Glass Lewis. He also brings valuable regulatory experience after working with French Market Regulator AMF. Nicola holds an MBA from the prestigious French school, ESCP-EAP.

Moderator: Maria Sanchez Marin Melero, Market Development Risk & Compliance, Thomson Reuters

Maria is responsible for driving Thomson Reuters go-to-market strategy in Continental Europe for businesses including Third Party Risk, Customer Risk and Compliance Learning. Previously, Maria was responsible for setting up the global Third Party Risk proposition, as well as leading the global Compliance Learning business. Prior to this, Maria was Chief Operating Officer at the Thomson Reuters Foundation, in charge of an annual event bringing together over 500 world leaders in the fight against human trafficking and slavery in the supply chain. Before that, she worked at the International Crisis Group, a world leading source of analysis on political conflict. She has an MBA from the Said Business School at Oxford University, where she wrote her thesis on strategic approaches to corporate responsibility.
