The international regulatory climate is more turbulent than ever before. As the winds of change continue to blow, 2017 will see the final preparations for MiFID II, which most global financial services firms are unable to escape coming in to its own. Meanwhile, firms who have just looked beyond Basel III now have one eye on Basel IV. With FRTB and GDPR thrown into the mix, the challenges in regulation, both existing and forthcoming, continue to grow.
However, new regulations can also bring new opportunities, and with more transparent markets, and more data available than ever before, firms will need to take advantage of the information and technology available to make sure they not only comply, but compete.
The Thomson Reuters Financial Regulation Summit will be an afternoon event addressing high-level information, insights in the world of financial regulation, including MiFID II in addition to best market practices. Senior professionals from regulators, impacted firms and solutions providers will discuss some of the challenges in existing and forthcoming regulation and look ahead to future impacts.
Running alongside the conference will be an exhibition of Thomson Reuters and partner solution providers, who will demonstrate regulatory technology solutions during the afternoon networking break and allow practitioners an opportunity to quiz providers about the suitability and capability of their offerings.
