In his role as Global Business Director, Asif leads and drive strategic & commercial engagement globally with our technology partners across the portfolio of Thomson Reuters assets: Legal, Financial & Risk, Tax & Accounting and News. As a Senior Site Officer, Asif is responsible for communication, compliance, facilities planning, social events, and volunteer activities across Thomson Reuters businesses on the West Coast of the United States.

David Aubuchon
Director of Market Development, Buyside & Wealth Management, Thomson Reuters

David Aubuchon is currently Director of Market Development for Investment Management at Thomson Reuters. In this role David is responsible for coordinating the go-to-market strategy for a broad range of technology solutions servicing the Wealth and Institutional Asset Management space.

David has over 15 years of experience at Thomson Reuters in the financial services industry, with previous roles including Strategy for Capital Markets and Proposition Manager for Corporate Solutions.

David holds a B.S. is Management Information Systems from the University of Missouri – St. Louis and based in San Francisco.

Bonnie Lyn de Bartok
CEO, MacComick Inc.

Bonnie Lyn lends more than 20 years’ international business, finance, human resources, and social development experience in the resources industry to the leadership of MacCormick Inc., est. 2009 as Founder and CEO.

MacCormick Inc. has been advising their Mining, NGO, Government, and Financial clients on social management and impact issues for nearly a decade across the globe, and they are the creators of the world’s first Social Performance Index (the MSPI).

From cradle to production and exploration to major producing companies, her project work includes expertise in risk assessments, baseline studies, resettlement, impact and compliance reporting, social management systems (SMS), program and process evaluation, social audit and gap analysis, and strategic community investment; both from top down strategy and bottom up execution.

Ken Beer
General Manager, AWS Key Management Service

Ken Beer is the General Manager of the AWS Key Management Service, a root of trust for all AWS customers to protect their most sensitive digital assets. Ken has worked in identity and access management, encryption, and key management for over 5 years at AWS.

Before joining AWS, Ken was in charge of the network security business at Trend Micro where he managed multiple appliance and software product lines to protect enterprise networks from external threats.

Before Trend Micro, Ken was at Tumbleweed Communications where he built secure messaging solutions to help enterprises comply with privacy regulations. Ken has spoken on a variety of security topics at events like the RSA Conference, the DoD PKI User’s Forum, and AWS Re:invent.

Kevin Bogdanov
Director of Market Development, Americas, Thomson Reuters

As Director of Market Development in the Americas, Kevin Bogdanov is responsible for bringing the voice of the customer and market into business decisions and regional industry engagement as part of Thomson Reuters’ ‘Customer and Third Party Risk Management’ business, which empowers customers to navigate the murky waters of AML, Financial Crime, Geopolitical Risk, Reputational Risk, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Third Party Risk and more. Kevin has spent 11 years running regional and global teams and programs that support how businesses align to and engage with the broader financial, risk, and technology markets, and is currently exploring how data, technology, automation and AI will disrupt and redefine the practice of compliance in the coming years.

Andre Boysen
Chief Identity Officer

Andre is responsible for positioning SecureKey’s growth strategy, cultivating opportunities in new and existing markets, and promoting demand for the company’s solutions globally. He serves as SecureKey’s digital identity evangelist.

He is recognized as a global leader in digital identity by One World Identity (2017) and Innovate Identity (2016). Andre serves on the boards of the identity standards organizations of DIACC and the Kantara Initiative. Prior to joining SecureKey, Andre co-founded and served as chief technology officer of 724 Solutions Inc.

Previously, he served as chief technology officer for Footprint Software and as chief executive officer for the company’s Asia Pacific business. In 1999, he was named one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 in recognition of his vision and accomplishments. From 1990 to 1994, he served as the chief executive officer of Open Systems Limited. Andre has also served on the boards of 724 Solutions Inc., Dexit Inc., Footprint Software Pty. Ltd., and 305 Management Services.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Ottawa, an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. He currently lectures at Wilfred Laurier’s Schlegel Entrepreneurship Centre.

Brennan Carley
Global Head of Enterprise Proposition & Product, Thomson Reuters

Brennan is responsible for Thomson Reuters Enterprise business globally, which includes all Thomson Reuters business in real-time and historical data feeds, enterprise analytic services, data management platforms, hosting and managed services. He leads Thomson Reuters strategic response to regulatory and market structure change, and is also responsible for product management of Thomson Reuters’ core platforms (the Eikon desktop platform, Elektron feeds platform, and Enterprise Content Platform.) Brennan also leads Thomson Reuters' MIFID program and the company’s Collaboration and Messaging offerings.

Brennan joined Thomson Reuters from Proton Advisors, bringing almost 30 years of experience in trading technology and trading communications. Brennan provided advisory services to private equity funds, venture investors, and their portfolio companies in trading technology and telecommunications.

Brennan was a part of the founding team and served as SVP of Product Marketing at Spread Networks, a provider of ultra low latency connectivity to the financial markets. Prior to that, he was COO of NYFIX (later NYSE Technologies). He founded financial extranet Radianz (later BT Radianz) where he ran Strategy, Product, Technology, Service, and Operations. Prior to that he was head of technology for Instinet, and began his career at IBM. He has been a director on the boards of companies including Marketcetera, Yipes, and Monitor110, and is an adjunct Professor of Business and Technology Management at New York University.

Brennan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from New York University and has done graduate studies at Columbia University, Harvard Business School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2014 he was named #48 in The Trade magazine’s ranking of the “100 Most Influential People in Buy-Side Trading- Past, Present and Future”. He has been featured in the book, “Architects of Electronic Trading: Technology Leaders Who Are Shaping Today’s Financial Markets” and in Michael Lewis’s “Flash Boys.”

Garry W.G. Clement
President and CEO, Clement Advisory Group

Financial Crime Prevention expert and advocate, Garry Clement joined the Association of Certified Financial Crime Specialists team in 2016 as the Executive Vice President. Garry brings over 25 years of financial crime fighting experience.

Garry Clement relies on his 34 years of policing experience, having worked in roles as the National Director for the RCMP’s Proceeds of Crime Program, working as an investigator and undercover operator in some of the highest organized crime levels throughout Canada. During Garry’s policing career, he received numerous awards and commendations for his investigative abilities, inclusive of recognitions from the US Drug Enforcement Administration and the CIA.

Garry has authored and/or co-authored a number of papers in national and international publications on organized crime and money laundering. Garry’s experiences make him an excellent, highly entertaining speaker for conferences, seminars and training programs.

Garry began working in the anti-money laundering arena in 1983, and was one of the pioneers of the RCMP’s proceeds of crime program. Since 2007 he has worked as a consultant with a focus on financial crime and independent money laundering reviews for the money service business industry, credit unions and securities firms. These roles provided Garry with experience in the areas of organized crime, drug trafficking, international smuggling and money laundering.

Phil Cotter
Managing Director, Risk and Supply Chain, Thomson Reuters

Phil Cotter is Managing Director of the Thomson Reuters Risk and Supply Chain business.

He was previously Managing Director of Experian’s Credit Services business in the UK and, immediately prior to joining Thomson Reuters, ran his own consulting business and served as a non-executive director on the board of Bisnode AB, a pan-European information services provider based in Sweden. With nearly 20 years of experience in information services, he has in-depth experience and knowledge of global information trends and strategies.

He holds several advisory positions including Nottingham University Business School, where he is an Honorary Professor.

Rahul Deshpande
Senior Vice President, Digital Integration Strategy, Mastercard

Rahul leads the digital integration strategy at Mastercard. In his role, he evaluates the value creation potential for integrated products and acquisitions for the security and digital divisions at Mastercard; develops and drives a consolidated strategy to integrate device security, digital credentials and authentication for Mastercard properties as well as for customers. His work involves deploying Artificial intelligence technology across Mastercard network to help financial institutions increase the accuracy of real-time approvals of genuine transactions, identify fraud and reduce false declines.

Rahul joined Mastercard Labs in 2014 as a part of R&D and product incubation group. Prior to Mastercard, Rahul led a number of leadership positions in Fortune 50 logistics, supply-chain, consulting and technology companies; built award winning applications, intelligent pricing engines, supply-chain networks and led R&D, engineering and enterprise architecture groups. He was also a co-founder of a startup that successfully launched an automated scanning and drafting product for civil engineers, architects.

Rahul holds MBA in strategy from Washington University in St. Louis and a master’s degree in computer science with specialization in artificial intelligence and genetic programming.

Jim Finkle
Cybersecurity and Technology Editor, Reuters News

Jim Finkle is the Americas cybersecurity and technology editor for Reuters, based in Toronto. Jim joined Reuters in Boston in 2005 as a technology reporter and began covering computer hacking, turning it into a full-time beat. Jim has written stories on a wide variety of hacks, from iPhones and cash registers to implanted pacemakers, automobiles and the electricity grid. Jim has previously worked for Bloomberg News and other news organizations in Tokyo, Taipei, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Amherst, Massachusetts.


Michael Geist
Canada Research Chair in Internet and E-commerce Law, University of Ottawa

Dr. Michael Geist is a law professor at the University of Ottawa where he holds the Canada Research Chair in Internet and E-commerce Law. He has been a visiting professor at universities around the world including the University of Haifa, Hong Kong University, and Tel Aviv University.

He has obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, Master of Laws (LL.M.) degrees from Cambridge University in the UK and Columbia Law School in New York, and a Doctorate in Law (J.S.D.) from Columbia Law School.

Dr. Geist is the editor of many books including Law, Privacy and Surveillance in Canada in the Post-Snowden Era (2015, University of Ottawa Press), The Copyright Pentalogy: How the Supreme Court of Canada Shook the Foundations of Canadian Copyright Law (2013, University of Ottawa Press), From "Radical Extremism" to "Balanced Copyright": Canadian Copyright and the Digital Agenda (2010, Irwin Law) and In the Public Interest: The Future of Canadian Copyright Law (2005, Irwin Law).

He is a regular columnist in the Globe and Mail, the editor of several monthly technology law publications, and the author of a popular blog on Internet and intellectual property law issues.

Dr. Geist serves on many boards, including CIRA, Internet Archive Canada, and the EFF Advisory Board. He has received numerous awards for his work including the University of Ottawa Open Access Award in 2016, Kroeger Award for Policy Leadership and the Public Knowledge IP3 Award in 2010, the Les Fowlie Award for Intellectual Freedom from the Ontario Library Association in 2009, the EFF’s Pioneer Award in 2008, and Canarie’s IWAY Public Leadership Award for his contribution to the development of the Internet in Canada.

Professor Geoffrey Hinton
Vice President, Google; Chief Scientific Advisor, Vector Institute; Emeritus Distinguished Professor of Computer Science, University of Toronto

Geoffrey designs machine learning algorithms. His aim is to discover neural network learning procedures that are efficient at finding complex structure in large, high-dimensional datasets. His research group at the University of Toronto made major breakthroughs in deep learning that revolutionized speech recognition and object classification.

He is now a Google Engineering Fellow and manages the Toronto branch of the Google Brain Team. Geoffrey Hinton is a fellow of the Royal Society and his awards include the NSERC Herzberg Gold medal, the IEEE James Clerk Maxwell Gold medal, the BBVA award for Information and Communication technology, the Killam prize for Engineering, the Rumelhart prize and the IJCAI Research Excellence Award. 

Robert Jenkins
Global Head of Research, Thomson Reuters

Bob has over 25 years of experience in the Financial Services and Asset Management industries having served in numerous executive and investment management roles at Fidelity Investments in addition to time spent as a strategy consultant in the Asset Management/FIG practice of McKinsey & Company.

As the Global Head of Research and Mutual Funds at Thomson Reuters, Bob oversees the global collective fund business propositions and investment research functions. Bob also serves on the Investment Committee of Thomson Reuters overseeing the firm’s global defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans.

Bob earned an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Over his career he has held FINRA Series 4, 7, 8, 9/10, 24 and 63 General Securities licenses and has served as a General Securities Principal and as a Senior Registered Options Principal. In addition to numerous speaking events and financial media appearances, he has authored several white papers on topics such as Retirement Investing, Investment Policy and Portfolio Manager Selection.

Heather Kay
Manager, Deloitte Canada

Heather is a Manager in the Risk Advisory practice at Deloitte Canada, in Toronto. Heather specializes in regulatory and risk management consulting within the financial institutions industry.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Heather worked at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions where she was responsible for assessing the conditions of a major Canadian bank’s national operations, branch network and foreign subsidiaries. Heather has participated in a number of high profile reviews in the areas of compliance, finance, risk governance, insurance, credit risk, corporate lending and capital markets.

Most recently, Heather was engaged by a major Canadian bank to support its efforts in achieving compliance with MiFID II conflicts of interest regulations.

Larry Persaud
Principal Engineering Lead AI Cloud, Microsoft

Mr. Larry Persaud has over 20+ years of strategic business and software engineering experience. He led worldwide sales and engineering teams, managed opportunity life cycle, delivered mission critical SaaS solutions, and is a strategic advisor for Fortune 20 customers. He has designed Enterprise cloud solutions that have yielded strong ROI, greatly improved operational performance and laid the foundation for continuous improvements.

His business acumen and technology thought leadership are demonstrated in developing breakthrough business and technical concepts, patents and working with standards committees. Larry is an executive Director of Strategy, and Solution Architect at Microsoft, Cloud and Enterprise division leading AI SaaS vertical solutions.

Larry led the Federal and Commercial Security Practices for Computer Associates. His focus was to increase new contract value, full corporate aspirations for multimillion-dollar Enterprise business, enable business strategies, increase channel partner capabilities, client/partner training, and provide robust methodologies for CA’s Pre/Post Sales and Technical field personnel.

Shaine Pollock
Vice President & Managing Director, Royal Bank of Canada

Shaine Pollock is Vice President & Managing Director, Global Compliance at RBC. In this role, Mr. Pollock is the Senior Executive responsible for both the Enterprise Compliance program at RBC and the compliance program supporting RBC Investor & Treasury Services in Canada.

Formerly, Mr. Pollock served as the Chief Compliance Officer & Managing Director of RBC Capital Markets in Canada between 2010 and 2016. Mr. Pollock joined RBC in 2004 and has served in a number of legal and compliance roles including the Director, Compliance supporting Capital Markets and Wealth Management, and Senior Legal Counsel supporting Wealth Management.

Prior to RBC, Mr. Pollock served as the Associate General Counsel of a non-bank owned investment dealer and was an Associate at a Bay Street law firm. Mr. Pollock also completed a secondment with the Corporate Finance Branch of the Ontario Securities Commission during his articles. Mr. Pollock was admitted to the Law Society of Upper Canada in February 2002.

Mr. Pollock is a former member of the Compliance and Legal Section Institutional Sub-Committee of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada ("IIROC") and the Compliance Committee of the Investment Industry Association of Canada. Mr. Pollock is currently a Hearing Committee member for IIROC.

Tomi Poutanen
Co-founder and co-CEO, Layer 6

Tomi Poutanen is co-founder and co-CEO of Layer 6 (layer6.ai), which offers the world’s most accurate prediction engine for enterprise data. Tomi is also a founder of the Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence and a founding Fellow of the Creative Destruction Lab, the World’s leading AI venture accelerator. Tomi holds an MSc in Computer Engineering and an MBA from University of Toronto.


Jon Robson
Executive Director First Derivatives Plc.

Jon is an Executive director of First Derivatives plc, the owner of Kx Systems and a leading technology and consulting company in global Capital Markets.

Thomson Reuters and First Derivatives have partnered to build Velocity Analytics (VA8), a MiFID solution for all asset classes that provides real-time and T+1 alerting. It enables clients to independently define and amend alerts to cater for new and evolving market abuse techniques.

VA8 it provides access to all data sets: orders, trades, market data, reference data, company announcements, and electronic communications. Jon has extensive experience within the financial information services industry.

Jon was CEO of NYSE Technologies, a division of the New York Stock Exchange. Jon spent ten years with Thomson Reuters Inc. where he served as President of the Enterprise Technology Division and CEO of Reuters Americas.

Previously, Jon was the founder of MoneyLine Telerate, a business acquired by Reuters, focused on pricing data and electronic trading platforms for the fixed income community. Jon has also served as a non-executive board director for a number of private and public companies, including the leading interdealer broker ICAPplc and settlements company Omgeo Inc.

Lisa Rowsell
Managing Director, Financial & Risk Canada, Thomson Reuters

Lisa Rowsell is the Managing Director for Canada in the Financial & Risk (F&R) division of Thomson Reuters responsible for developing and driving the core business strategy across Canada including the end-to-end customer experience, revenue performance and partnerships. Since joining Thomson Financial in 2000, Lisa has held a variety of sales and leadership roles within the organization with her most recent role, prior to assuming the leadership of Canada, Senior Vice President & Global Business Director for select strategic customers across financial centres in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

Robert Schukai
MBE, Global Head of Design, Digital Identity Solutions, Thomson Reuters

Robert Schukai, MBE, is head of digital identity services for Thomson Reuters. Previously, he led Applied Innovation, driving strategic projects in blockchain, cognitive computing, cloud services, and user experience.

Robert has held research, engineering, product, strategy, and business development roles at Motorola and Turner Broadcasting System.

He holds a BSEE from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and an MSEE from Arizona State University. He was named a Member of the British Empire in 2014 for services to UK startups and education.

Hon. Hugh Segal
Author and Former Senator

Hugh is an accomplished author and columnist; he has appeared regularly on CTV, CBC and PBS. A former chair of the Senate foreign Relations and Anti-Terrorist Committees, he is a former Chief of staff to the Prime Minister and Associate Cabinet Secretary in Ontario, and served in the Senate for nine years as a Conservative even though he was appointed by a Liberal Prime Minister.

A former special envoy to the commonwealth, he has travelled extensively advocating for human rights, rule of law, judicial independence and democracy in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean. An Honorary Captain in the Royal Canadian Navy he speaks, with both insight and humour about important domestic, international and income security issues. In 2015 he won the Vimy Award from Canada’s defence community for outstanding contributions to Canada’s national defence and the defence of democracy.

He has written several books on Canadian public policy and foreign affairs. When in the Senate he brought in ‎ legislation forcing quarterly public reporting on all government spending and motions for televising and reforming the Upper Chamber. He was elevated to the Order of Canada in 2003 before being summoned to the Senate. He is a co-chair of the Democracy 10 (world’s largest democracies) forum and honorary chair of the Navy League of Canada.

Andrew Simpson
Chief Operating Officer, CaseWare Analytics

Andrew Simpson, Chief Operating Officer, CaseWare Analytics, has over 20 years’ experience building businesses in the fields of information systems audit and security, data analytics and interrogation, AML and forensics. Andrew is a regular contributor to conferences and a recognized thought leader in financial crime management.

Andrew previously worked at Ernst & Young as an IT Security Specialist and maintains his position as Founder & Chairman of Symptai Consulting, a 20 year-old IT audit and security consulting firm.

He has an MBA in Banking and Finance from the University of Wales and Manchester Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of the West Indies.

Jim Smith
President and Chief Executive Officer, Thomson Reuters

James C. Smith is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Thomson Reuters.

Mr. Smith leads a company of over 45,000 people in more than 100 countries which provides critical news, information and technology to leading decision makers around the world. The company’s products primarily serve professionals in the legal, regulatory and financial markets. It reported revenues of $11.2 billion in 2016.

Mr. Smith began his career as a journalist and rose through the ranks at Thomson Newspapers to become responsible for operations in North America. Following the divesture of Thomson’s newspaper business in 2000, he moved to the professional publishing side of the company where he was responsible for a number of businesses serving the legal, regulatory and academic markets. He also served as global head of Human Resources before becoming Chief Operating Officer of The Thomson Corporation. Following the acquisition of Reuters in 2008, Mr. Smith ran the Professional Division of the combined company. He was named chief executive in January 2012.

Mr. Smith graduated from Marshall University, and in 2013 also received an honorary doctorate in humane letters from Marshall.

Jesse Spiro
Head of Specializes Research, World Check, Thomson Reuters

Jesse Spiro is the head of specialized research for Thomson Reuters World-Check. He is an expert on threat finance, financial crime, anti-money laundering, enhanced due diligence and third party risk.

He oversees a global team of research analysts covering bribery, corruption, and threat finance (terrorism, proliferation, cyber crime, organized crime, smuggling, trafficking). He is the author of several reports on supply chain and reputational risk and is a member of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance - Threat Finance Task Force and the US Chamber of Commerce- Human Trafficking Task Force.

Jay Subrahmonia
Head of Professional Services, IntelSaffron

Jay Subrahmonia is the Head of Professional Services for Intel Saffron. She reports to the GM of Intel Saffron, and is responsible for delivering Saffron based solutions to clients. Her team of Client Managers, Cognitive Solution Architects, Cognitive Solution Engineers and Data Scientists work closely with clients to deliver Saffron based solutions, bringing reasoning systems to help transform businesses.

Prior to joining Intel, she held a number of executive positions at IBM. As VP, DevOps Transformation and Cloud Architecture at IBM, she worked with the Cloud leadership team to drive development transformation and operations excellence to deliver Cloud capabilities to market. As VP, Development for Core and Healthcare Products in the IBM Watson Group, she was responsible for delivering Watson solutions to clients in the healthcare and financial services industries. She has a strong track record of working with early adopter clients. She started her career at IBM’s TJ Watson Research Center. Jay has a PhD from Brown University in Machine Learning, has 20 patents filed, 14 issued, and 9 corporate awards.


Pierre Tellis
Senior Legal Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, TSX Trust

Pierre is Senior Counsel in TMX Group Limited’s General Counsel’s Office and serves TSX Trust Company as its Chief Compliance Officer.

As Senior Counsel, Pierre practices general corporate and commercial law as well as securities and trust law and provides legal advice to TSX Trust’s various business units including Corporate Trust, Client Management, Sales and Operations.

As Chief Compliance Officer, Pierre is responsible for all compliance matters including privacy, anti-money laundering and regulatory issues applicable to TSX Trust as a federally regulated trust company.

Pierre has more than 20 years of experience working for various trust companies and the transfer agency business in particular. Pierre received his bachelor’s degree from McGill University and his law degree from the University of British Columbia.

Jonathan Weber is the Global Technology Editor at Reuters News, overseeing a broad range of business and technology coverage.

Previously he served as West Coast Bureau Chief for the news agency, overseeing news bureaus in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle. A veteran reporter, editor and journalism entrepreneur, he was previously the founding editor of The Bay Citizen, a non-profit news organization serving the San Francisco Bay Area.

Before that he was the founder and CEO of New West Publishing, a new media company serving the Rocky Mountain West. He was the co-founder and editor in chief of the Industry Standard, the highly regarded newsweekly that chronicled the first Internet boom, and prior to that was a writer and editor at the Los Angeles Times. He holds a B.A. in philosophy from Wesleyan University.

Andrew Yuille
Head of Risk Business Solutions, Thomson Reuters

Andrew Yuille has more than 25 years of experience of business development in high growth organizations across technology, information services and financial services and serves as the Head of Partners and Platform Ecosystem: Risk at Thomson Reuters. In this role he leads the development through partnerships of new business models and new propositions to drive commercial growth for the Risk business 

Andrew’s previous roles include Head of Proposition Marketing - Specialist Markets & Communities; Head of Proposition Marketing – GRC for Thomson Reuters; Chief Marketing Officer for global risk intelligence provider World-Check; and business development roles for ERP software vendor Tetra plc and supply-chain software vendor Strategix. He is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars across Americas, EMEA and Asia Pac on topics relating to governance, risk and compliance, the prevention financial crime, supply chain management and B2B marketing strategy.  

He holds an MSc in Management and Marketing from the University of South Wales. In 2001 Andrew was elected as a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Marketing. Andrew is also a Trustee and Governor of Herries Educational Trust, a registered charity in the UK and volunteers as a licensed technical official for the UK Amateur Swimming Association.

Brian Zubert
Director, Thomson Reuters Lab - Waterloo Region

Brian is heading up a team of data scientists at Thomson Reuters Labs – Waterloo Region, jointly exploring opportunities in big data with financial, legal, and accounting customers as well as pursuing partnerships with startups and academia.

Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, he worked as an Executive in Residence at Communitech, where he supported over 100 startups helping them scale all aspects of their business. In his previous role as Director of Developer Relations at BlackBerry, Brian led a global team of 30+ developers through rapid expansion and managed direct technical relationships with over 600 major brands.
